We are seeking RN Infection Control Coordinator for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. The Infection Control Coordinator (ICC) develops and oversees the hospital's infection control program. Responsibilities include surveillance activities, investigation of any potential outbreaks, hospital and medical staff education, as well as ongoing data analysis and trending. Additionally, the ICC collaborates with the Chairperson of the Infection Control Committee to establish the agenda, provide data/data analysis and Infection Control updates as well as maintain minutes of committee activity.
The ICC also ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to infection control including the JCAHO standards, OSHA, Conditions of Participation, etc. Infection Control policy and plan development and maintenance as well as the Occupational Health/Infection Control Coordinator will be familiar with the mission, vision and value statements of this facility.

What you will do in this role:
- Coordinate process to reduce the risk of endemic and epidemic nosocomial infections in patients and healthcare workers
- Apply process designed to reduce the risk of endemic and epidemic nosocomial infections in patient care and employee heath activities
- Collect data for patient care findings and identification of nosocomial infections
- Report and disseminate infection rates and other significant infection control issues to various medical committees
- Report information about infection to appropriate public health agencies
- Implements strategies to prevent outbreaks when identified
- Evaluate nosocomial improvements in risk, trends, and rates
- Implements a successful nosocomial risk reduction process
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is preferred
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License preferred
- Infection Control Certification preferred
- Computer experience (Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Membership/Participation in a professional organization is required
