Hill Country Mental Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Centers is a unit of local government and a not-for-profit, 501C provider of Mental Health and Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Substance Abuse, Early Childhood Intervention Services and Veteran Services throughout the greater Texas Hill Country Region. Hill Country MHDD Centers is designated to be the Mental Health Authority by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority by the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) for a 19 County Service Area including: Bandera, Blanco, Comal, Edwards, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Kinney, Llano, Mason, Medina, Menard, Real, Schleicher, Sutton, Uvalde and Val Verde Counties. With a Mission of Promoting Independence, Community Integration and Recovery, HCMHDD Centers operates (10) ten Mental Health Clinics, (8) Developmental Disability Centers and (8) Eight Early Childhood Intervention locations serving a population of over 630,349 consumers within 22,593 square miles.

Job Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner is clinically and administratively responsible to the Medical Director/Supervising Physician. Performs advanced clinical medical care under the supervision of a physician. Work involves assisting, planning and providing comprehensive patient care independently or in collaboration with health care professionals. Work involves directing medical activities/treatment: monitoring trends and activities, making recommendations for improvement. All other duties as assigned by the Medical Director/Facility Director. Position requires some travel to various Clinics within service area and flexibility in work schedule. 

Other Duties:

  • May plan, assign, and or supervise the work of others.
  • Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Prepare and maintain medical records
  • The ability to present ideas clearly and concisely in both written and oral communications.
  • The ability to work productively with professionals and paraprofessionals as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
